We handled the full scope: NewTechWood Terrace composite decking in Blackbutt around the pool, Colorbond fencing in Monument, a frameless glass pool fence, and travertine pavers running down the side of the home. The brief was a clean, contemporary outdoor space built for the Sunshine Coast lifestyle — and that's exactly what the clients got.

The Build

The NewTechWood Blackbutt decking wraps the pool and sets the tone for the entire space. That warm, honeyed timber tone is one of Blackbutt's strongest suits — it reads as natural hardwood, feels solid underfoot, and holds its colour without fading, cracking, or demanding annual maintenance. Around a pool, that last point matters more than most people realise until they've lived with a traditional timber deck through a Queensland summer.

The Colorbond fencing in Monument anchors the perimeter and gives the space its edge. Dark fencing does something interesting in an outdoor setting — it recedes visually, pushing the eye toward the pool and the deck rather than the boundary. Combined with the warm tones of the Blackbutt boards, the contrast is striking without being harsh.

The frameless glass pool fence keeps the lines clean and the sightlines open. No posts breaking up the view, no visual clutter around the water — just uninterrupted connection between the deck and the pool. It also meets pool safety compliance requirements without compromising the aesthetic in any way.

Running down the side of the home, the travertine pavers tie the project together and give the property a consistency that lifts the kerb appeal of the whole block.
